Our Drums
We offer two main series of suitcase drums with a couple sub-series within those two categories. The first is by far our most popular: The Custom Shop.
Custom Shop Series:
Custom Shop Series kick drums are built from the ground-up. In fact, we are the only suitcase drum company that makes the luggage before converting it into a bass drum. We start with Russian void-less ply and form the box shape, carefully routing our corners and sided to create the signature shape, we incorporate specific contours befitting the mid century genre. After that, we wrap the box in your choice of vegan leather or tweed. The wraps can include two-tone and even multi-ton color schemes. From there we attach the hinges, hasps and leather corners, which are soaked in a warm solution to make them pliable. Once that is complete, we hand machine the handle clasps to attach to the handle in your color choice. After attaching mounts, feet, spurs and grommets, we carefully craft the custom interior. Our custom interiors are comprised of closed cell, medium-density foam that are cut into shape and then wrapped, glued and stitched into place. Once the interior is complete we begin integrating electronics. One other note on this- we are the first and only suitcase company to have internally mounted triggers! Want your kick to double as an electronic drum? Look no further, the trigger addition can be added to any order. We also offer internal microphones.
Once the electronics are successfully integrated, we begin the arduous process of crafting the shell. With 9 specifies of wood to choose from, we truly offer that exact tone you envision. Our shells have the option for fixed one-sided lugs, fixed two-sided lugs, free floating lugs or a patented single-tension system that evenly tightens both heads with the twist of a drum key.
Our shells are “married” to the case in a proprietary method that ensures maximum resonance and a perfect fit… From there, we machine the port hole from your choice of brass or aluminum to match the handle clasps which are also hand-machined.
Heads are applied, then your choice of metal, wood or extended hoop provides counter pressure which are held in place with your choice of mini or die cast claw hooks. For tension rods we have choices of T-rods, straight rods, round-end rods and anodized rods. All rods (excluding anodized) as well as mounts, spurs, grommets, claws and metal hoops come in your choice of brass, black nickel, nickel or chrome.
After that we cover add-on’s… this would include signature Casebass innovations like:
detachable wheels and pull handle
detachable seat tops for guitar players
detachable tambourine pedal system (also for guitar)
rail mount handles
slip covers
canister thrones
hat box snare cases
nesting shells
toms, snares and effects instruments
internal modules and power sources
and many more

Every case is made by hand, using artisan-level techniques and craftsmanship. Don’t settle for the copies, come see why it’s worth it to get the real-deal. We have been fortunate to develop our product over the course of completing hundreds of builds and will continue to innovate our way to a vastly superior product. All the components are either designed specifically for drum products or fabricated for this use. The only thing we up-cycle are the suitcases (in the vintage series)
